Guitar Teacher Job Details

Qualification and Knowledge

  • Grade 5 (or above) certification from any international examination board.

  • Graduate degree in any field.

  • Proficiency in conducting trial classes.

  • Strong skills in sight-reading, aural skills, scales, chords, arpeggios, musical techniques, composition, and content creation.

  • In-depth knowledge of music theory, teaching methods, instrument knowledge, musical development, pedagogy, and exam boards.

  • Minimum 2 years of online teaching experience.

Equipment Requirements

  • Personal laptop/desktop/Mac

  • Wired broadband internet.

  • 5 MP+ camera with 720p or 1080p resolution.

  • Own electric/acoustic guitar, amps & effects.

  • Power backup unit.

  • Noise-free, well-lit, hygienic working environment.

Experience and Skills

  • Public speaking, questioning, project management, assessment, motivation, persuasion, problem-solving, content creation, presentation, time management, typing, and computer skills.

  • Sight Reading, Aural Skills, Compositional Skills, Scales, Chords, Arpeggios, Music Theory.

  • Proficiency with software like Zoom, OBS/Soundflower, Guitar Pro, Musescore, Google Drive, Sheets, Slides, and YouTube.

What We're Looking For ?

Are you a passionate and experienced guitar teacher? We're seeking dedicated individuals who has:

  • Strong Background in Music Education: Solid foundation in teaching music.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to convey concepts clearly.

  • Commitment to Student Success: Dedicated to helping students achieve their musical goals.

  • Online Teaching Experience: At least 2 years of experience teaching music online.

  • Certified Guitar Teacher: Grade 5 (or above) certification from an international examination board.

Your Role as an Online Guitar Teacher

As an online guitar teacher at Notation School, you'll:

  • Conduct Live Online Guitar Lessons: Personalized 1:1 sessions for students.

  • Develop Tailored Lesson Plans: Meet the individual needs and goals of each student.

  • Teach Songs, Exercises, and Courses: Encourage creativity and exploration.

  • Provide Regular Feedback: Help students progress on their musical journey.

  • Prepare Students for Assessments: Ensure they meet Rockschool London standards.
